City Media UK

COOKIE POLICY

Last updated: 29 October 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how City Media UK uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit our website, and how you can control them.

Cookie settings: you can accept or reject optional cookies, or change your mind at any time, here: Change cookie settings.

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device when you visit a website. They allow websites to remember information about your visit and can help the website function correctly.

Similar technologies, such as your browser’s local storage and tracking pixels, work in a similar way. In this policy we refer to all of these as “cookies”.

2. How we use cookies

We use cookies for three purposes:

  • Essential – needed for the website to work, including remembering your cookie choice.

  • Analytics – optional cookies used to understand how visitors use our website (Google Analytics 4).

  • Marketing – optional cookies used to measure and improve our advertising on Facebook and Instagram (Meta Pixel).

Analytics and marketing cookies are only used if you click “Accept” in our cookie banner. If you click “Reject”, or make no choice, they are not loaded at all.

3. Essential cookies

We store your cookie choice in your browser so we don’t ask you again on every page. This is necessary for the website to respect your choice, so it does not require consent.

Our website is hosted on Cloudflare, which may set strictly necessary security cookies to protect the website from malicious traffic.

4. Google Analytics 4 (analytics)

If you accept cookies, we use Google Analytics 4 (GA4), provided by Google, to understand how visitors use our website so we can improve it. GA4 helps us understand information such as:

  • Which pages are visited

  • How visitors navigate around the website

  • Which buttons and forms are used, such as enquiries and WhatsApp clicks

  • The type of device and browser being used

  • General geographical information

  • How visitors arrive at our website

GA4 does not log or store IP addresses. We cannot use Google Analytics to identify you personally.

5. Meta Pixel (marketing)

If you accept cookies, we use the Meta Pixel, provided by Meta Platforms (the company behind Facebook and Instagram). It tells us when visitors who have seen our adverts on Facebook or Instagram visit our website or send us an enquiry, so we can measure how well our advertising works and show it to people likely to be interested.

Meta may link this information to your Facebook or Instagram account if you have one, and use it in line with its own privacy policy. You can control the adverts you see in your Facebook and Instagram ad preferences.

6. Cookies we use

  • cm_cookie_consent (City Media UK, essential) – remembers your cookie choice. Stored in your browser until you clear it.

  • _ga and _ga_* (Google, analytics) – distinguish visitors and sessions. Up to 2 years.

  • _fbp (Meta, marketing) – identifies browsers for advertising measurement. 3 months.

  • _fbc (Meta, marketing) – set if you arrive by clicking one of our Facebook or Instagram adverts. 3 months.

7. Your cookie choices

When you first visit our website, a banner lets you Accept or Reject optional cookies. Both choices are equally easy, and the website works fully either way.

You can change or withdraw your consent at any time using the Change cookie settings link on this page. If you withdraw consent, we stop loading Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel and remove the cookies they set on our website.

Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing that took place before you withdrew your consent.

8. Other services on our website

Our contact and website mockup forms are sent using Web3Forms, and our WhatsApp button opens WhatsApp (also provided by Meta). These do not set cookies on our website, but when you use them, the information you choose to send is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.

Third-party providers process information in line with their own privacy policies:

9. Managing cookies through your browser

You can also manage or delete cookies through your web browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:

  • View the cookies stored on your device

  • Delete existing cookies

  • Block cookies

  • Block cookies from particular websites

  • Receive a warning before cookies are stored

Please note that blocking essential cookies may affect the functionality of some websites.

10. Changes to this Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our website, the cookies and services we use, or legal requirements. Any changes will be published on this page with an updated “Last updated” date.
